Weekend.

The last 4 days have been more eventful than the 2 weeks of vacation I had. Mostly because I decided to face the cold instead of  waiting for Spring to come. So I just said yes! to every invitation to go out that I got. 

That's how I managed to get a lot of new things that I absolutely adore!

I love this broche!! Initially it wad for my mother but I liked it so much that I let her know that if it's not really something she'd wear, I'd be happy to take it off her hands :D Very subtle...

This one was a gift from some friends at college. I don't usually wear broches but now I'll definitely work on that. I think they've become my newest obsession.

This is... coffee in a tiny bottle. I'm not sure what to do with it yet but it's so lovely! One of my best friends made it for me because she knows I have a thing for coffee beans. 

Everything you see below is hand made also! Of course, still coffee related. The ring is my favorite gift! Unfortunately I managed to already ruin it and a small string of leather fell but it's not really noticeable. The candle looks too good so I don't think I'll ever light it :D And the little picture hasn't found a perfect wall to be displayed on yet. 

I've been trying to convince my friend to let me help her start a blog and advertise all her little creations but she's still a bit skeptical.

This is a very old issue of Frankie but I happened to find it in a bunch of magazines. There's an article about my sister and her work so I'm very proud of her. 

It's been snowing for 2 days straight and mother nature doesn't seem to plan on changing that any time soon. So now I'm enjoying some alone time at home with a big big chocolate cake next to me. 

And today I had a visitor. Although I only spent about 3 hours with this little cutie, I'm already exhausted.

Might be going out for some pizza later if this terrible snow storm plans on calming down a bit :]

I haven't found a name for this adorable little fellow but I'm working on it.

He arrived in the mail today along with a lovely birthday card/letter from someone very close to my heart.

How to start the week? Memories + a healthy drink.

Week 1

... of my vacation went by way too fast. And looking back, I have't really done much!

The first few days were great! My mood usually depends on the weather so since it was sunny and warm I spent a lot of time outside with friends. We found Nemo Monday at this animal store and I still feel terribly special because of that :D We ate a lot of sweets and walked all around town. Wednesday we went to the movies and wasted 2 hours on a very uninteresting movie, The Dilemma. 

From that day on the constant raining started. So I've been in my room mostly, making the best of my free time. I started reading a book I know I have for next semester but I gave up on it after finding Memoirs Of A Dutiful Daughter by Simone de Beauvoir: 

I found it in my mother's library and I haven't been able to put it down ever since. The plot isn't much but I really enjoy the writing of the author. It's just everything but boring! 

So that's how I plan on ending my week. Some tea and that book next to me :]

Since I was hoping spring would show up, I couldn't help myself and I just had to buy this. It's adorable and surprisingly it doesn't fall off at all. Perfect for my head haha

I also delighted myself with this incredibly delicious chocolate. Healthy and sweet. How often can you find that combination? Although I'm usually a fan of simple, milk chocolate, this one has won me over. 

Sadly, I can't find it here so I'll have to wait until my next visit to Austria and make sure I get enough to last me at least a couple of weeks. 

12th of February

The day started off kind of bad. I had to clean the whole house and cook. All my hard work was repaid with a delicious ice cream cake!

Then I met up with 2 of my closest friends. I missed these days!

Although we did nothing out of the ordinary, a nice day like this is exactly what I needed after all the stressful college related events. Now that I'm on vacation I feel like I have way too much time on my hands and I have no idea what to do with it. Hopefully I'll manage to make the next 2 weeks quite productive :]

03.02 - 10.02

My friend from Austria came to visit me this week. I was there last summer for two weeks and it was absolutely fabulous! Now it was time that I was the host :] 

She got me lots of cute stuff. She always does! 

Well before she got here my week was quite hectic. I had the biggest exam coming up so I was stressed about that. It went very well and I was happy that my hard work finally payed off. I had a few days that were calm and uneventful so I decided to clean my closet a little bit. I found a great shirt I bought when I was in England 2 years ago. I rarely wore it out of the house so I suppose that's why I forgot about it. Brought back some lovely memories :D I still only wear it around the house mainly because it's quite large and I have a hard time finding some nice items to match it with. 

My favorite item was this lovely top from Zara. What I like the most about it is that it's incredibly soft and comfortable. Although you can't really see it in the picture, there are these lovely little birds on it :D I like that it's gray which can be quite plain, but the birds add a little colors here and there. 

So that was the biggest gift. I'm a fan of small, useful ones so that's what I got next! When I stayed with her last year, I kept on going about how nice her soap smells haha. It's quite a unique one and I haven't been able to find anything similar where I live so she thought it would make me happy if she brought me some! And it did :D I keep smelling it like it's a drug! The lip balm is fantastic. It doesn't really smell like cherries which makes it even better cause I'm not really into that. 

We watched a lot of movies together because the weather wasn't nice enough to let us go outside much. It was good though cause we had a lot of fun! 

The next few days were a little less eventful which let me have some time to play around with my moleskine. 

I'm new in the arts area so I know they're not much but they still mean something to me. I always kept small things from trips and such cause I wanted little memories from everywhere! Now I finally decided to put it all together in one place so that's why I started working on this. I still have a long way to go but there's no hurry.

Another new item in my room is this wonderful book. It's full of photographs of exactly what the title says: Daily Life. I've never heard of Antanas Stukus before. You can also see my 2 favorite pictures in the whole book. They're all quite similar but at the same time terribly different from one another. 

Tomorrow I have my last exam and then I have 2 weeks of vacation. Finally! I've been already working on a list of things I want to do then and it's slowly getting quite long. Now that spring is here I can finally get out of the house more :] 

I can't say all I've been doing lately is study.
I took many breaks and played with my camera.
Scribbling and doodling were also invited to my little parties.

Still, coffee has been a faithful companion.

It's almost over so I will soon start taking pictures of something other than my notebooks or my many coffee mugs. I suppose in the end, all my effort has payed off :]
Time to start working on that insanely long list of movies I have. And books. Nights out and a lot of dancing.
I'm ready for all of it!
