The Darling Life

I've discovered her work a while ago and I simply fell in love with it.

The lights fade

Exhausted.
This seems to be the only way I feel lately.
So whenever I can, I remind myself that there's more out there than work.
  • A few birthdays are coming up
  • The Book Depository is holding a few contests at the moment. (there's no chance of me winning that dreamy Nikon D3100 camera but a girl can dream, right?)
  • I might actually go to about 4 concerts this weekend. If I'm up for it.
  • We're taking a trip as soon as our exams are over. July 3rd, please hurry up!

Calm Sundays

Tea
Sun
Bed
Lately I found myself very fond of white curtains, windows and unmade beds.
Green apples are refreshing and showers are better when they take more than 20 mins.
Music in the background can make homework/cleaning more bearable.
Long walks are better early in the morning or late at night.

Retorno 201 part II

And it's finally here! After over a week of waiting I can start enjoying this wonderful book <3

The weekend is here and it's probably my last free one for the next month. I'm going to start my exams soon but my mind is already set on nothing but the summer vacation. I have no idea how I'm going to focus on studying... And the lovely weather outside isn't helping.

In other news, can I just say how much  I love Bon Iver's new album?! Definitely lives up to my expectations.
This man's music is a piece of Heaven.

What you shall do.

Love the sun and the earth and the animals,
Despise riches,
Give alms to everyone that asks,
Stand up for the stupid and crazy,
Devote your income and labor to others,
Have patience and indulgence toward the people,
Take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men,
Go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families,
Read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life,
Reexamine all you have been told at school or church or any book,
Dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh will be a great poem and I have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body.

14.05

This weekend, for the first time in a very long time, I have no work to do. I missed waking up at noon  knowing that all that awaits you is a day ready to be wasted <3
Some French songs playing in the background, a delicious cup of coffee and a sunny morning are the elements for a perfect morning.
A little bit of reading now and later going out for a bite to eat with a close friend.
It's the little things in life...

Retorno 201

The book with 186 co-authors.
How fabulous does that sound?! This is definitely a book I must read this summer, once I'm done with what I have to read for uni (which bores me beyond belief).
It seems that 186 people received a page from the book without knowing who the author is or what the story is about. Each of them had to personalize that page, to go crazy and add/ change/ comment/ take out whatever they pleased.  Ink stains, coffee stains, doodles, different writing styles.
Gah! I can't wait to delight myself with this book. I already know I'm going to love it :D

Edit: I ordered it. Can't wait to hold it in my handsss <3

Note to self: make a list of books to read this summer.

Sadness, I'm your girl

Newest obsession when it comes to music: Lykke Li.
Lately I've been spoiling myself with warm, sunny mornings filled with coffee and good music. On the opposite side there are the 3 mornings every week when classes start at 8am so my alarm goes off around 6.30am. Terror.
I've decided to read for at least an hour every day cause I have a lot of catching up to do. I'm currently reading 4 books and it's actually more enjoyable than taking them one at a time. My mood lets me choose which to pick every time.

Endurance

Good things don't come to those who wait.
They follow in the wake of perseverance.
No records are set at the starting line,
no castles constructed in loose grain sand.

You set your sights on sights worth seeing,
And you endure.
Luck is elusive, so always keep in motion.
Time waits for nobody.

It is the part between the beginning and the end
that is your life.

What's yours to live is infinite until it ends,
and it so remains until the last breath you take.
In death, the body can no longer chase the horizon,
so consider what gravity ties you down.

Means are as infinite as ends.
You are searching for what is already there.
All journeys travel from a place to another.
The magic lies in the dream of the destination.
